Background: This community service activity aimed to improve family welfare through mentoring pregnant women in developing home-based businesses using local food processing in Ambawang Village. The program was conducted by STIKes Panca Bhakti Pontianak and focused on training participants to produce bongko cake made from pumpkin as a nutritious and economically valuable local food product. Methods: The participants consisted of 20 people, including 15 pregnant women, 3 village health cadres, and 2 housewives. The implementation methods included preparation, health education, demonstrations, direct practice in making pumpkin bongko cake, business mentoring, and evaluation. Educational materials covered maternal nutrition, the nutritional benefits of pumpkin, home business opportunities, simple financial management, packaging techniques, and marketing strategies. Results: The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge regarding maternal nutrition and the benefits of local food utilization. Participants also demonstrated improved skills in processing pumpkin into bongko cake, packaging products, and understanding basic home business management. In addition, the activity increased participants’ motivation and confidence to start small-scale home businesses because the production process was simple, the ingredients were affordable, and the product had market potential. Conclusion: This community service program proved that empowering pregnant women through local food-based home businesses can support family economic improvement while also promoting maternal health. The activity is expected to encourage sustainable community empowerment programs and increase the utilization of local food resources in improving family welfare.
