Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children due to chronic nutritional problems, characterized
by a child's length or height not being appropriate for age or <-2 SD based on the Z-Score table. Based on the
Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the stunting rate in Kubu Raya in 2023 was 25.4 percent, and the target
for 2024 is 22.98 percent. Meanwhile, the number of stunted toddlers in Sungai Raya District is 8,677. Data shows
that there are still 35 children experiencing stunting in Madu Sari Village. However, due to the presence of stunting
cases, efforts are being made to reduce stunting and design a local food-based PMT program to reduce stunting. The
goal is to improve toddler health through a strategy to reduce stunting with locally sourced food supplements (PMT),
as well as to increase parental knowledge about how stunting can impact long-term health and child growth and
development. The community service activities used child growth and development screening methods and health
education on the importance of providing supplementary food to mothers of children aged 6-24 months in Bunga Baru
Hamlet, Madu Sari Village, Sungai Raya District. The results, based on data on stunting incidence in toddlers, indicate
that 15 children still experience stunting. This data indicates that many mothers are unaware of the benefits of PMT
using local food ingredients, both for improving nutrition and for reducing stunting in their toddlers. This lack of
health attention is due to a lack of awareness in maintaining health. Conclusion: The importance of education on
providing PMT using local food ingredients to reduce stunting in toddlers
